What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

Normal health/activity for an out of shape 71 year old Caucasian male with a painful right hip. Was very active skiing 16 years ago. After 8 years of OA, total right hip replacement 6 days post jab #1. Guided, dedicated recovery resulted in downhill skiing 53 weeks postop.

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

During this time, got second jab. Pain and weakness in both arms. Pain in upper arm when side sleeping lasting 10-15 minutes. Remain very weak lifting with either arm.

Physical recovery and maintenance goal is flexibility and at least some strength at full extensions. I do fall skiing!

Only once, on stationary cycle post two Maderno jabs (one each arm) pain radiated down to right wrist and up to right jaw from jab site. No other physical, respiratory or neurological symptoms. Reduced load/pedal rate: pains receded. No lasting effects.

Sep 1-14, 2022. total body pain. Unable to not swear sitting/standing from a chair, entering/exiting bed. Loss of conscience would've been preferable.

Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms

Physician directed muscle strengthening for arm weakness. Minimal effectiveness over two years. Diclofenac repurposed out of desperation for neck, knee and chest tendon (muscle?) pain. Since Oct 22, 2022, keeping exercise journal with weights and repetitions during approx 2 hours in gym, 2-4 times per week. Limitations due to tendon pain noted. Total body tendon pain controllable with diclofenac. Can be physically limiting. Most tendon pains are in pelvic region. Know what is NOT right hip pain. Believe tendons because continued exercising all muscles does not result in stressed/ strained muscle ache/pain. Pain is only transitory, associated with a particular muscle usage attempting full range of motion.

Which solutions were not helpful?

Ibuprofen, Tylenol, oxycodone with Tylenol

What would you like others to know?

Don't confuse joint pain with tendon pain. Diclofenac gel (1%) applied per recommended rate works for me. Works on my left hip even though it hasn't been tested there. Follow wait times for dressing/ bathing. To apply to top of adductor tendons, use plastic bag/ plastic food wrap (Syran) to prevent scrotum absorbing diclofenac
