What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

I had a normal life, at 69 yrs old am retired, doing volunteer work and was active in the community. Had friends my husband whom I've been married to for 49yrs. Have children and grandchildren. I had some health issues arising from two bouts of breast cancer, but my life was enjoyable. I was active in the community and living day to day

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

As I received my first and only dose, I had intense pain in my ear on the same side of the injection arm. Two hours later, my eye I'd had a bleed in a few months before, suddenly flared up. It was very red both inside the eye and outside also very itchy and sore. I had to have treatment with eye drops.

On the second day, I woke up with terrible upper abdominal pain, which lasted over 2 days, plus started having palpitations while lying down.

I was sent for an echo cardiogram and ECG, luckily that was ok, but I still have palpitations now. I had a endoscopy, which showed severe inflammation through my digestive system.

I was treated with PPI meds, but had to stop because of side effects, was put on a special diet by a dietician, the symptoms have eased, as long as I'm pretty rigid with my diet and don't regress too much. I'm also under the care of a gastroenterologist.

I also have enlarged lymph nodes in the axilla of the arm of the injection site, which are still enlarged, so I have to have an ultrasound every couple of months to check how they are and 3 weeks ago, I'm starting to have problems with my fingers swelling on the same arm.

Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms

I was prescribed proton pump inhibitors, but they gave me side effects, so I have been doing my own research on what to eat, as with this stomach issue I have to be careful about what I eat. I've spoken to a naturopath, who has given me help and I am gradually working my way through this and I'm hoping that eventually I will overcome all this, by being very proactive in my own treatment. Doctors still won't recognise that it's the vaccine that caused the problems.

Which solutions were not helpful?

PPI'S. My Dr and gastro specialist, have not been greatly helpful and won't commit when I say it's the vaccine as I have told them, I wasn't having any of these issues before the vaccine, having to get out of bed every night and having pain

What would you like others to know?

Just to be aware how this vaccine seems to target areas that are vuerable in your body and can have a impact that affects the rest of your life
