What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

full of life and healthy. I had a great career as a Sr. Executive Assistant, supporting the President & CEO of a healthcare organization. I had to quit my job at age 56 and now hoping I will be approved for disability. This was not how I had imagined my life to ever be :(

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

The day after the second Pfizer vaccine, I felt like I was heavily sedated, very weak, walking in a cloud feeling. Between this time and end of August, I got severely sick (with almost all COVID symptoms) several times but never tested positive for COVID (False negatives I'm sure). By September 2021, I acquired a deep wheezing cough in my lungs to which I saw my PCP, Pulmonologist, Neurologist, Rheumatologist and numerous bloodwork and urinalysis'. Nothing was showing up, so Pulmonologist wanted to just say that I had Asthma and prescribed Albuterol (I never had asthma in my life; I was an avid runner and biker). By March 2022 (six months and still with a severe cough) I landed in the hospital for a week with Pneumonia, onset sepsis and acute sinusitis. They treated me and cough went away. But while in the hospital, I started experiencing neuropathy in both feet and hands. They could not treat me there because they did not have a neuro service line. Three weeks later (end of April), I landed in the hospital again for one month and there they performed a biopsy on my right calf to test muscle and nerves. They discovered autoimmune disease a rare Vasculitis Granulamatosis with Polyangitis.

Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms

After discovering the problem with Neuropathy, they treated me with two 1000mg of Rituximab infusions (two weeks apart). This would suppress a portion of my B cells that apparently attacked my central nervous system. Since the May infusions, I received two more infusions in November of 2022. I will need to stay this course until they feel comfortable to remove me from it. The neuropathy did a lot of damage and still today, I have numbness in both feet and hands. I am receiving both Physical and Occupational therapy since May and wait patiently for my nerves to regenerate and heal.

Which solutions were not helpful?

Those physicians who did not catch what was happening to me in the early stages of this horrendous experience.

What would you like others to know?

Never allow an employer to force you to receive a vaccine that is not FDA approved.
