Miya Nabeta
What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?
I was an avid backpacker (trips up to 240 miles); hiker (single day hikes up to 24 miles); paddleboard
I spent 2-4 days a week out enjoying nature on big outdoor trips.
Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.
It was immediate. And initially I did not think too much of it. My arm at the injection site was a little sore and I was tired (turned back before mile 1 on a hike).
Since I heard that some people did not feel well for a week or so after, I just thought I would be one of those people.
But it just remained. I can barely get through doing the bare minimum each day. I am always exhausted both physically and mentally for no reason.
Occasion I have small windows of feeling ok. So I drive out to go do something outdoors and by the time I get there, the driving has exhausted me. I end up driving home.
Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms
Nothing.
Which solutions were not helpful?
Increase caloric intake.
I am tiny (female less than 100#) and eat a non processed food vegetarian diet. So I thought maybe my body needs more calories. So I increased my snacks throughout the day … mostly higher protein
What would you like others to know?
There is nothing medically wrong with me. My doctors believed me and ran a bunch of tests. ALL came back normal.
I may not have ended up in the hospital, but my life after the J&J vaccine has no purpose (no, I am not suicidal … just exhausted and frustrated and a bit mad at myself for getting the vaccine to begin with).
My symptoms have been going on for a year and a half … I am afraid this is my new normals
