I received my vaccines in 2021 and 2022. Four of them. I have had Covid several times even though I was vaccinated four times. In September of 2024 while traveling with my ski team/school in Chile I got the flu and Covid. I was hospitalized for 3 days; stabilzed enough to fly home to the USA and have still not recovered from long covid. My mom has been taking me to doctors all of the Northeast including primary care physician, Neurologists, Cardiologists, Optometrist, ENT's with scores and scores of tests, blood work and finally ended up at Mt. Sinai in May of 2025 where they diagnosed me with long covid. I was a healthy strong 17 year old before my trip to Chile and now am barely functioning as an 18 year. I struggle with fatigue, brain fog and dizziness consistently with an increased heart rate now and am struggling with anxiety after all this time. I also struggled with indigestion recently.
Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms
I am still looking for helpful solutions. I am using a very low dose beta blocker to help reduce my heart rate and what they say may be something like POTS syndrome. I take magnesium, salt tables, Vitamin C and D3 daily. I had also take B2 and B12 for a periodof time. I took a medication for indigestion for 30+ days which has helped. The indigestion comes and goes now.
I plan to try tonight; Nattokinase.
Which solutions were not helpful?
The long covid clinic recommended an SSRI/off label medication as treatment for long covid and was sure this would help me. I used the meidcation for 2 full weeks; during that time I was completely bed ridden with little daily function. I did not get out of bed for two weeks. I tried the NAC and had naseau and more dizziness so did not continue this after 24 hours.
What would you like others to know?
The off label SSRI was frightening, and did not help anything. In fact made things worse.
