I received the first dose of Pfizer on February 23. For the last 12 weeks I’ve experienced constant paraesthesia on the left side of my face and painful nerve pinching on top of my scalp. Soon after the trigeminal neuropathy began, my symptoms evolved to include nerve twitching in my legs, muscle spasms throughout my body, swollen joints, tremors, and a burning scalp. I’ve gotten very little relief from my ever evolving neurological issues despite attempts to treat the neuropathy with anti seizure medications. I am fortunate to have doctors who’ve advised against me getting a second shot, but they are still at a loss for the specific mechanism causing this reaction, how to effectively treat it, and what a realistic prognosis for recovery might be.
