Vaccine Injury Testimonial

Vaccine Injury of Grace Gilliver

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

2023-2024 was filled with doctor visit after doctor visit only to be told that the specialist I was seeing had no answers and would be referring me to another specialist. I felt defeated, isolated and like I would never get better.

My symptoms started small in 2022: my feet would turn purple when I sat in a chair and my cognitive function was declining by the day. Simple things that I used to do without hesitation became so overwhelming to me. My short-term memory got worse. My left foot and ankle began to swell in 2023 significantly and without cause. I had several ultrasounds of my leg to rule out DVT and had general bloodwork done, but the doctors still could not provide answers. My symptoms began to worsen, especially my left foot/ankle. My feet were in excruciating pain which would work up my legs and then effect my entire body. Whenever I would sit in a sitting position, I felt like my body was a pressure cooker. Minute by minute the pressure would intensify to the point where my feet would be so swollen, I could barely get my shoe off and my body felt like it was going to explode.

I saw my cardiologist in 2024 to rule out any heart issues because I was having chest pains. She sent me to a vascular surgeon who speculated that I had May-Thurner Syndrome. The vascular surgeon performed a venogram to look at my iliac vein. After seeing that it was 95% compressed, the doctor placed a stent in my iliac vein in May 2024, to help with blood circulation for my body. For a few months, most of my symptoms subsided. However, after a while, more symptoms began to pop up. I had a bad shingles outbreak on my leg in September 2024. After healing from eight weeks of shingles, I had a severe dizzy attack in October 2024 that made me feel like I couldn’t walk without my knees giving way. I was given anti-viral medication and my dizziness cleared up, but I was not convinced everything was ok.

The brainfog was debilitating. I shut down. I felt completely incompetent to be able to have conversations with people, I lost confidence in my ability to communicate because I couldn’t remember people’s names and I would often forget what I was talking about mid sentence. It was like I would wake up a relive a bad dream everyday, like one of those bad dreams you have where you are screaming to wake up and you can’t wake up? That’s how I felt when I couldn’t communicate words or thoughts. I would have all of these thoughts in my mind but I just couldn’t get them out of my mouth. It crippled me.

A family friend referred me to an amazing doctor December 2024, and I finally have some answers for why my health has been deteriorating. I have been given a diagnosis of Long Covid, which I am being treated for now. Basically, my veins are not able to return the blood back to my heart efficiently because of the micro-clotting and weakened venous walls.

I have been treated for 2025-2026 with my long covid doctor and have improved a little. I was also diagnosed with mast cell activation syndrome. I still have pains all over my body and my feet still turn purple when I sit or stand. I have terrible heat intolerance and cannot stand outside without getting flushed and feeling like I am going to pass out.

Recently, my hands have been turning purple and I have been given a diagnosis of Neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I am continuing with physical therapy for about 6 months to try and help the pain.
