Vaccine Injury of Janet Tonick

What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

My skin was clear before the vaccine. Within 4 months, my immune system went haywire. My left leg swelled and turned red and itchy. My scalp crusted over with a severe itching/burning rash. My face, neck, chest and back all had the same itchy/burning rash. Within the last year I've been diagnosed with dermatomyositis which causes my immune system to attack my muscles and skin.

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

Received 2 doses of Pfizer vaccine - Feb 2021
Multiple immune related symptoms appeared - Jun 2021
Visiting doctors and looking for help - June 2021 to present

Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms

A drug called RINVOQ has helped tremendously, but it's not approved for use for this particular disease. The only way I have been able to "try it" is because my dermatologist provides me with samples.

Which solutions were not helpful?

Most every shot, drug and cream I tried to relieve the itchy/burning symptoms provided very little temporary relief.

What would you like others to know?

If you have been diagnosed with dermatomyositis try RINVOQ.
