What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

I am actually writing this on behalf of my sister, who is now permanently disabled and cognitively impaired. She is unable to comprehend what has happened to her life that was normal before getting vaccinated. She lived a normal independent life with her husband, worked a full time job, enjoyed hobbies and time with friends and family.

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

Her initial symptoms were loss of short term memory. This began 4 or 5 months following her second vaccine.

Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms

She was diagnosed with Autoimmune encephalitis (AIE), which is a type of encephalitis, and one of the most common causes of noninfectious encephalitis. She was treated with IVIG, which is a type of immunotherapy. The result was decreased swelling in her brain, but she is now left with the brain injury as a result of the swelling and is permanently disabled. She has a two minute memory span and is cognitively impaired. We don't know if she will ever recover or improve.

Which solutions were not helpful?

N/A, except for the neurologist that she initially met, provided no support for helping with her recovery. There are also minimal resources and programs out there for brain injury patients that aren't physically injured.

What would you like others to know?

I know there isn't a clear correlation between the vaccination and what happened to my sister. But I do know since the vaccine came out there has been an increase in neurological issues and negative symptoms, especially with women. But it seems ironic that the only thing that has changed in her life and lifestyle leading up to this, was that she was vaccinated with a vaccine that we knew hadn't been tested long enough to know what the impact of it was. She had no health issues leading up to this and lived a healthy lifestyle. Which means she shouldn't had been vaccinated in the first place! I just want someone to pay the price and be accountable for what has happened to those that have been impacted. My sister will be unable to work the rest of her life and is now having to survive off Social Security, which is not enough for anyone to live off! Especially when she is unable to care for herself. Just glad to have found a platform to share my story and hopefully find some answers or support for my sister.
