Vaccine Injury of Michael Hopkins

Before the the Moderna Covid-19 vaccination my husband was healthy and vibrant. Our family was financially secure, deeply happy, and grounded, with a bright future ahead.

At the age of 42, my husband received the COVID-19 vaccination on 5/20/21. Within months of receiving the vaccination, my husband began experiencing significant adverse health reactions. Since his symptoms began, he has required care from numerous medical specialists—including cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, naturopathic medicine, chiropractic care, and a doctor of natural medicine—and has required multiple emergency room visits. Despite extensive medical evaluations and treatments across multiple specialties, and pacemaker placement surgery, his health has not returned to what it was before vaccination.

In August of 2024, at the age of 45 years old, he had 'Medtronic dual chamber pacemaker placement surgery'. He now depends on a pacemaker to keep his heart functioning. The vaccine injury has affected nearly every system in his body. His nervous system is severely dysregulated, his body’s electrical system misfires, and he lives in a constant state of sympathetic overload and PTSD. Each day he struggles with pain, weakness, relentless fatigue, depression, GI issues, physiological PTSD and cognitive impairment that has taken away parts of the person he once was.

Genetic testing has also shown that my husband carries a double variant of the MTHFR gene, inherited from both parents. This raises additional questions about whether certain individuals with underlying genetic differences may respond differently to vaccination. As medicine increasingly recognizes the importance of genetics and personalized health, it is important that vaccine safety research also examine whether certain genetic profiles—such as variants in the MTHFR gene—may influence how individuals respond to vaccination.

This injury has not only affected his health—it has reshaped our entire lives. What once felt like a normal future has been replaced by constant medical uncertainty, daily limitations, financial ruin, and the emotional weight of watching someone you love struggle to live in a body that no longer functions the way it once did.

My husband received the COVID-19 vaccine because it was required by his employeer in order for him to keep his job. As a result of that mandate, he is now living with severe and ongoing health consequences, and our lives were permanently changed as a result. Our experience illustrates the profound human impact that public health policies can have when adverse events occur.
