My name is Rachel. I’m 24 years old, and I took my first Pfizer vaccine June 21st. On the 26th, I spent 12 hours in the ER due to chest pain and difficulty breathing. After numerous blood tests, EKG, and CT scans, I have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus. My doctor informed me that the vaccine have caused an aberrant inflammatory response. Just two weeks before June 21st, I was healthy. For my husband and I’s honeymoon, we climbed to the very top of Koko Head (which is one of the most difficult trail hikes in Oahu). Now, I am constantly in pain. I can hardly walk without being in pain, or even carry groceries. I can’t step outside without a raging headache. I can hardly function to do daily tasks, like opening a water bottle or turning the nozzle to faucets. My symptoms progress every single day to night sweats, joint pain, rashes… Everyday I wonder “what new symptom will I have now?”. My life has turned completely upside down. I’m constantly suffering. I cannot enjoy the simplest things with my husband, because or how delicate and sensitive I have physically become. I can’t have friends over or go to outings because I am now immunocompromised. While my husband has been very supportive of me, my heart breaks knowing that I may never be able to enjoy life the way we used to before June 21st.
