Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

"7/23/21

April 15th I received the Moderna vaccine. Immediately after the shot I felt like I was going to pass out, my body got warm and tingled. I sat in waiting area with paramedics until I felt I could drive home. Upon driving home to Bend it started to hit me like a wave. My vision got blurry my heart started racing and I started to get scared. I was stuck in traffic so I had to deal with it for a few minutes until I could get off the road safely (this was the worst). I parked called my wife and while speaking with her my throat started to swell up and the left side of my body where I got the shot turned red. We called 911 and once in the ambulance I was given epinephrine and Benadryl. This immediately started to unswell my throat and allow me speak better. The epinephrine spiked my adrenaline though and sent my heart over 160 bpm. Upon arriving at the ER I started to have uncontrollable body shakes. This lasted for close to 45 minutes until they gave a drug to calm my body down. They diagnosed me as having an anaphylactic allergic reaction to the vaccine. I have never been allergic to anything in my life prior to this.

The next day I felt fine and went about my day but reflecting on the previous day and what a whirlwind it was. The day after is when it hit me again. I was working in the yard and I felt suddenly dizzy and fatigued and felt like I was going to pass out. I was then bed ridden for the next week and so dizzy I could hardly make it to the bathroom. The next month was a blur I visited my regular Doctor and was referred to other specialists. We took an MRI of my brain as I had a concussion a few months prior and the belief was that this brought back all of my concussion symptoms. The MRI showed damage to my brain from the concussion previously and some new inflammation and swelling but I was told it was nothing serious but typical for a post-concussion patient. (It had been almost four months since the concussion though?). I ended up leaving work as my ability to concentrate dwindled drastically and my dizziness was invoked by staring at computer monitors.

Since then I have seen countless specialists in the Bend Medical community. I have had a host of symptoms as well that have just showed up at random. I have had heart palpitations, trouble breathing, nerve pain in my neck and back and through my legs, (I have woken up in the middle of the night with uncontrollably body shakes or shivering), daily headaches and sensitivity to light. I have also been dealing with stomach issues that made it not worth eating for a month and now have made me change my diet completely and now my upset stomach intensifies my 24/7 daily dizziness I deal with. (I have lost 30Ibs and I needed to so maybe that’s the silver lining J those that know me know I joke a lot and I have to in order to get through this).

I have found a Neuro Doctor in Bend that has been my saving grace and has helped me at least get back to semi functioning and if it were not for him I do not know where I would be right now. I also have the best wife on the planet Windy Bush who has left work after my multiple visits to the ER we thought it was time for her to be at home to help me. If it were not for her and my wonderful kids helping me with something as simple as daily hugs I don’t think I would be making it through this. My days are an emotional rollercoaster and I cry almost daily. I used to hide my crying whether it was until the kids left the room or my wife fell asleep but now it just comes out at random.

I have been trying all different types of therapy’s from eye therapy, electrical stimulation, physical therapy, biofeedback, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, supplements, MRI, X-Ray and bloodwork. You name it I have probably tried it.

The truth of the matter is the in a small percentage of us the vaccine can have these side effects. Most of us just have to deal with it and live in a desert where most of the medical community dismisses the fact that the vaccine caused it and it’s something else but they can’t say what. It’s really hard to find treatment for something that the medical community is not investigating or researching. All I want is to be healthy again and wake up one day and have a normal day. If I could have one more of those days before I die I would give everything, to be able to wake up eat what I want for breakfast, walk without holding on to the walls or my wife for support and just have a smile on my face all day instead of wiping tears off my face.

I do think and fear for my future and wonder if I will be dealing with this the rest of my life or if I now need to watch over my shoulder for other Neuro disorders to now arise as a result such as ALS, Alzheimer’s, Dementia or Parkinson’s.
