Vaccine Injury of Van Newell

What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

Active and in good health. I had been diagnosed with mild Neuropathy before the J&J vaccination.

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

In March of 2021, I took the vaccine. In May, I was experiencing severe back and lower leg pain. The lower leg pain and other symptoms consisted of lower leg muscles tightening, a feeling like the lower legs were in a very tight compression stocking, pins and needles and sharp stabbing pains in the compression areas.
Symptoms continued to worsen, with pain and weakness in my legs that required a walker. I was not sleeping.
In August, I was placed in the hospital for a complete neurological workup, which did not result in a diagnosis.
Ultimately, I was diagnosed with CIDP, or in other words, they did not know what caused the severe neuropathy and other 'long-covid type' issues.
I was utterly incapacitated through most of 2022 and the early part of 2023. I have made incremental progress, using canes instead of a walker and a more normal immune/ metabolic state with higher energy levels.

Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms

Following a 'long-covid' protocol, directed at reducing inflammation and allowing the body to heal itself (intermittent fasting, low-carb diet, supplements, infrared light, etc.).
I am currently off all pain medication and other RXs.

Which solutions were not helpful?

Took IVIG infusion treatments and steroids with no benefit.

What would you like others to know?

Take charge of your health and do the research. There is hope, but it is not in prescriptions.
