My life was ordinary. I was ambulatory with no problems and would participate in activities sport activities once in awhile for the most part.

My symptoms began from me fainting and falling down the stairs of my house. Going to the ER being seen and being dismissed due to my bipolar disorder they thought it was my lithium level was too high. After the blood work was done they found that the lithium level was fine and they the ER doctors cleared me to go home after that I started feeling numbness in the bottom of my feet and it’s spread on my legs to my abdomen area to the point where I couldn’t feel them and I couldn’t walk. We had to call 911 for transport to get me to the hospital and when we arrived at the ER they saw me five days in a row and couldn’t diagnose me so they thought it was another episode of my bipolar disorder and dismissed it and we’re going to send me home I said no and I called my primary doctor and she called a neurologist in the neurologist came in and did a spinal tap the spinal tap revealed that I had Guillain-Barre syndrome. I was paralyzed from the waist down most part and also from my arms a little bit the nurses had to feed me for about a week I had to learn to walk again.

The doctors were afraid that the Guillain-Barre syndrome was taking over to rapidly so they gave me double the amount of IV drip medication that they treat Guillain-Barre syndrome with instead of 10 hours of rounds of medication I received 20 rounds of IV medication for 20 hours after that I received plasma foresis five times in 6 or 7 days it took out 60% of my plasma and replaced it with new plasma and that helped.

There wasn’t said solution to the problem I still have Guillain-Barre syndrome and I always have it for the rest of my life.

What would I like others to know? I would like others to be educated in whatever they’re thinking of doing to their cells to their bodies to their children till the to each other before doing anything drastic.
