Julio Cesar Francisco Vique Montalvo // Nuevo Leon, Mexico // Moderna
Date of vaccine: October 19, 2021
Date of injury: October 19, 2021
What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?
Normal, healthy 61 year old. Using metformin and no other medications. Glucose under control, except for spikes when eating desserts, which I knew would be happening. Rarely visited the doctor.
Describe your symptoms and the timeline of your reaction
Day two after vaccination started having trouble concentrating, pain in my left arm. Within the week I started having pain in my right arm too, had trouble raising my arms. November the problems with my arms was still the same. Went to doctor and was prescribed B12 supplement and no change.
December, 2021 had a stomach infection and was administered antibiotics injections and that seemed to also alleviate the pain in arms.
January, 2022 started slight limp on my left leg ocasionally, and by the end of January it was both legs. Doctor couldn’t figure out what the cause was.
February, 2022 I had to start using walker every now and then, mostly for moving outside. I had first MRI taken, and prostate echo done also.
March, 2022 using walker all the time MRI didn’t show anything on results, by the end of March I had to start using a wheel chair.
April, 2022 confined to wheelchair with paralysis from the waist down and both hands. Referred to neurologist for evaluation and more tests ordered. Neurologist finds damage to spinal chord ( mielitis ) and prescribes medication.
End of April, 2022 started taking meds to regenerate nerves with a low chance of recovery.
November, 2022 was able to stand on my feet for the first time. Have been doing physical therapy since then and slowly recovering.
Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms
What I think made the difference (GOD first) was when I was receiving physical therapy in the beginning it was not helping. My family got me motorized pedals with strap-on boots to fasten to the pedals and I would spend 15 or 20 minutes every day using them on the lowest setting.
The medications were doing their job also and this together with a healthy diet consisting of mainly avocado and chicken made the difference for me. I have been taking vitamin supplements and herbal supplements and seem to be working. And a lot of faith.
Which solutions were not helpful?
The negativity from the doctors that were treating me trying to find other diagnosis that didn’t explain the symptoms. Guillen Barre, Diabetic neurophaty, an old back injury I have, etc. They would not concede the possibility that it was caused by the vaccine.
What would you like others to know?
Have faith, have hope. Don’t give up.
