What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

ME/CSF, positive EB, managed well, very active, work 3 part time jobs to pay housing, car, walked 2 to 3 miles day with dog, travel to family
Retired RN. Graduate degree, writer, outgoing
Love sports events

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

Fall 2021, bad taste in mouth, bladder and pelvic pain, shortness of breath, chest pain, sweating, confusion, severe fatigue, body pain
As time passed blurred vision, blue feet, legs, numb fingers, headaches, memory confusion and word loss, as or2024 these symptoms have all progressed, PT set me back and down
Every small thing I do leaves me with SOB, chest pain, body pain, crashing fatigue
In 2023 several of my doctors did not believe me
Neurologist, eye doctor, sleep doctor, primary care, dentist
Now I sleep with BiPap, go to UVAcovid clinic
Rest most of day, walk only few week

Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms

Rest, drink a lot, decrease all activities
No longer do social events of 3 or more, too overwhelming
Lots of boundaries, don’t stand, walk very little, drive to neighbors even on same block,
Limited errands, rest with dressing, shower, don’t cook, pain creams and meds BiPap breathing exercises, hand surgery, laughter, old movies Supplements (sort of) bible study, prayer, journaling, friends
Finding MD that understood what I was saying
Letting friends help me

Which solutions were not helpful?

PT crushed me
Trying to do more hasn’t helped
Eating and craving sweets for energy doesn’t help
Ignoring my body
Trying to do what people think I can do

What would you like others to know?

That even tho I look fine I can’t do what I used to do
Don’t plead with me to go or do or return to events
Laugh with me
Don’t focus on how I feel
