What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

Rheumatic problems related to HCV and treatment which left me anemic and with AVN that resolved but still have severe chronic joint swelling a d effusion now along with a cervical fusion that caused adjacent segment disease? I also had surgeries on my heel due to foreign body injury and it’s altered my gait and caused musculoskeletal issues.

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

Exactly one week after one dose of Moderna vaccine I woke to a extremely swollen face with a weeping rash of clear serum that crusted yellow on the margins. My fingers turners purple the. Petechiae and necrosis ultimately peeling away. I had chest and abdominal pain fatigue memory issues. All my issues were exacerbated along with the swollen oozing face and the COVID fingers and toes. My joints hurt more. My shortness of breath was more. Light and sound sensitivity along with temperature sensitivity. My toes still but I’ve had four episodes

4/14/21, 5//06/21,09/08/21, and 2/23/22. All lasting just around two weeks Immunologist says definitely the vaccine. My identical twin brother who had the same HCV and treatment has many of the same symptoms but his reaction was mild without the swelling but his fingers had the same but mild reaction. I am waiting to wake up unable to see again and have seen numerous specialists. I have a referral to the Mayo Clinic hoping they can help me reduce my pain or fix whats broken if possible. My rheumatologist says “ It’s not gonna get better. It will only worsen Seek pain management “. The ER when I had my second episode dismissed me and called it hives while I had a swollen face with rash and petechiae. How is that hives?? They gave me a dose pack which didn’t help.

Which solutions were not helpful?

None were attempted. My immunologist had nothing. My labs regarding my liver was mixed No fibrosis I was a 3 now a 0 yet ultrasound showed NAFLD and I had high a2M levels. Since the vaccine my liver has caused pain. Mostly full but at times brutal.

What would you like others to know?

Just be skeptical. Critical of what goes into your body. I am a surgical tech and certainly not an anti vaccine person. But this experience has given me pause. I saw yesterday they found the RNA was basically turned into DNA with spike proteins?? I wish I knew somebody who could explain what took place and is still effecting me??
