What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

Completely normal, completely healthy. I went to the gym 4 times a week, ate well, never got sick. I was your typical 29-year-old female. I spent my time working and hanging out with friends.

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

On 2/21, I developed hives on my neck and shoulder in the evening. They were very itchy but they went away within a few hours. The next night, I developed hives all over my body from head to toe. My hands and feet were swollen and I couldn’t move my thumb. My throat and chest got tight and I had some difficulty breathing. The next day, I went to urgent care and they prescribed me 5 days of prednisone and Pepsid. The hives did not get better. The next day, they became larger and more swollen. They were all over my body from my feet, legs, stomach, arms, hands, neck, shoulders, and chest. I went to the ER and got an IV of steroids, Pepsid, and Benadryl. Hives got better but returned the following day. They weren’t as swollen but were all over my body for about 3 days. It then turned to dermatographia, which is what it has remained since then. It comes and goes at different times in different spots.

Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms

Benadryl, Zyrtec, colloidal oatmeal soap, vitamin d3, probiotics, cetaphil lotion

Which solutions were not helpful?

Prednisone made the hives worse when I stopped taking them
