Vaccine Injury of Barbara Orandello

What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

Prior to receiving my second Moderna vaccine, I was an independent, healthy, vibrant, active 71-year-old. I loved to go for walks and cook for my family.

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

I received my second vaccine on March 3, 2021. On March 4, 2021, 18 hours after my vaccination, I woke with an excruciating pain behind my right eye. My condition continued to decline, and an ambulance was called. I was taken to our local hospital who then transported me via helicopter to the nearest level 1 trauma hospital where I underwent an emergency craniotomy for a hemorrhagic stroke. During surgery it was discovered that I had an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) that ruptured. One-third of my brain was filled with blood and my neurosurgeon told me that if four people suffer the hemorrhagic stroke like I did, only one survives. I was left paralyzed on my entire left side and lost the left side vision in both eyes. I spent over two weeks in the hospital and an additional three weeks at a rehabilitation hospital undergoing speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. I have been in therapy for three to five days per week for the last almost three years. My neurologist told me that it is extremely rare for an AVM to rupture in your 70s and if it hasn’t ruptured by the age of 50, you will most likely die with it never knowing you had it and will only rupture if it is triggered by something. She stated that most AVMs rupture during childbirth and I birthed two children in my 20s with no issue. I am now completely dependent on my husband and daughter to take care of me and am no longer independent.

What would you like others to know?

I hope that our injuries are recognized, and that this vaccine has caused countless injuries. We did what we were asked to do by our government and yet our government does not recognize us. I hope that the truth is revealed and that those injured are vindicated. And that they stop pushing this shot.
