Vaccine Injury of Christine Sager

What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

I was a very active and fit 34 year old female. I was a full time flight attendant, foodie, and fitness enthusiast. I used to pride myself on working multiple jobs (coaching volleyball, working in health care before becoming a flight attendant, house sitting, and yacht detailing). Running was my therapy and would often run or walk 3-6 miles a day and also do HIIT/Crossfit.

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

I was vaccinated for work purposes in Sept 2021. Immediately after my vaccine I noticed that my pain was much higher than any other vaccine/shot I had received. I assumed this was normal and carried on. I also became quite tired, and I couldn't handle my daily tasks quite as easily. Again, I attributed this to my immune system responding in a normal way to the vaccine. My arm remained sore for over a week and the tiredness just didn't leave. As the days went by, I realized that I no longer had any sort of hunger cues. Almost quite the opposite, I really didn't want food. This is not normal for me as I am an all-day snacker. I started having to set an alarm to eat because I would go about my day and in the evening, I would realize that I hadn't eaten anything all day. I no longer had any sort of appetite. Also, my monthly cycle following this vaccine was different then I have ever experienced coming early/late and consistency as well as flow were irregular for me. Following my second dose of the vaccine I had all the same issues as above, but I was still functioning. After dose number two my GI issues went out of control. I still had no appetite and almost repulsed by food but now I was experiencing diarrhea at an alarming rate (frequency was more than I could justify with not being able to eat much). I also began to experience a weird noticeable heartbeat. I had been able to see on my fitness tracker. I continued on and once I got covid in January shortly after my vaccines I have become so bad I am on disability and have been unable to work. I could list everything I have gone thru here but it would take far too long. I have seen a Cardiologist, Electro-Cardiologist, Neurologist, Endocrinologist, Pulmonologist, Hematologist, Oncologist, Allergist, Immunologist, OBGYN, Rheumatologist, Gastroenterologist, ENT Doctor. I have completed Speech Therapy, Cardiac Rehab, Pulmonary Rehab, Physical Therapy. I have had frequent appts with my Primary Care Physician as well as been seen at Urgent Care and the ER. I am described as POTS-Like, MCAS-Like, Sjogrens-Like, ME/CFS-Like, and having some sort of immune dysfunction which many of my doctors believe started for me with the vaccine and snowballed from there. All of my imaging comes back "Structurally Unremarkable," and my blood work has had some odd findings but nothing that points me in the direction of treatment. My iron was low and has been remedied with an infusion and held stable for over a year now. I have autoimmune markers for what seems like an unknown autoimmune disease. My life is a long distant memory at this point and I cannot even recognize the person I am today.

Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms

Nothing, I am progressively getting worse.

Which solutions were not helpful?

No solutions at this point. I have been offered some items for symptoms management, but it doesn't resolve the symptoms and comes with side effects.

What would you like others to know?

I think the biggest thing I would like others to know is just how much those of us who are injured wish we could just go back to the person we once knew. I would give anything to go back to work, I loved my career. We are all apart of a club that we never wanted to be in and there is no way out. Our bodies at this point really are trapped and I remain hopeful that we can heal because I have no other choice but to do so.
