I was a girlfriend, RN, mother, grandmother and friend. I could walk, I worked hard and had hope for my future. I felt so young!

07/2020: diagnosed with CRPS to right lower extremity
12/23/2021: Received 2nd Moderna vaccine as required for federal employees; without warning that the vaccine was known to cause CRPS to be exacerbated. Within days I was unable to walk with CRPS flaring for the 1st time since diagnosis and now moved into left leg as well.
1/6/2022: Tested + for COVID 19
As a diabetic, I became severely hyperglycemic and by April of 2022 I lost all feeling to both legs and was taken by ambulance to the ER where I was admitted with multi-system, critical illness.
As of today, I'm diagnosed with Sjogren's and RRMS on top of hidradenitis suppurativa, still difficult to control DM and CRPS. I also have neuropsychological testing confirmed dx of MCI. I am also severely depressed.

Initiate research for people with genetic predisposition to increased likelihood of autoimmune problems arising from vaccines; for example, increased susceptibility to Guillain Barre.

Demonizing vaccination across the board is dangerous and irresponsible. It's important to find opportunity for improvement specific to COVID vaccine precautions and patient teaching to ensure that the right protections are implemented to prevent future outbreaks while protecting those vulnerable to injury.

People with a history of autoimmune disease are extremely vulnerable to adverse reactions to any vaccine. As an RN, I absolutely believe in and support vaccination to prevent the spread of disease. However, the COVID vaccine precautions for people like me weren't clear or even explained or communicated in my case and CRPS is so hard to control once it flares. The domino effect of receiving this vaccine without comprehensive teaching has all but destroyed my life.
