Vaccine Injury of PAUL OAKLEY

What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

Active and working

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

Injected end of April 2021. Initial symptoms were severe back pain. Physiotherapy for the back pain during summer of 2021. Drugs that did not help were Ibuprofen, Paracetamol, Steroids. Some relief from Tramadol 325mg + Paracetamol. Weight loss 13kg from 92kG to 79Kg. Gradual increase in Neuropathy over the summer. My search of international medical literature surfaced cases of GBS in UK and India. I am used to reading papers as I am a scientist - Biochemist. I suggested GBS as a possible diagnosis to my General Practitioner who was helpful! Impossible to get an appointment for an EMG locally, so went to the private hospital in Paris, The American Hospital of Paris. EMG diagnosis was positive and immediate hospitalisation followed: 3 periods as an in-patient totalling 11 days until the end of 2021. Then 3 out-patient visits for 1 day each until May 2022. I received 300g IV IgG per day ( 6 bottles of 50g each diluted to 200mL per day ). My mobility was improved as was my hand co-ordination. ( I was able to sign the cheques to the Hospital but not fill in the cheques ) The GBS did not affect my breathing. I am left with slight small fibre neuropathy in my legs but this is not getting worse. I stopped the IV IgG treatment over concerns that the donor plasma could be contaminated with spike protein.

Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms

IV IgG seems to be an instant fix. But costs about $550 per 50g pot. I do not think this is routinely made available in France.

What would you like others to know?

If I were not a scientist I doubt that I would have been diagnosed and treated. People showing GBS symptoms need to be made aware of the solutions. The language barrier in France makes it even more difficult to enlighten patients.
